Bakeri Spruce (Picea pungens 'Bakeri')

A cultivar of the Colorado Blue Spruce that is a bit more irregular and informal in appearance, with a uniformly gray-blue color. Deserving of use as a specimen or for grouping.

Size: 15 to 20 feet high and 6 to 10 feet wide.

Shape: Dense, pyramidal form

Cones: Light brown, 2-4\" oblong cones when mature

Fall Color: No change.

Rate of Growth: Slow to medium.

Other Attributes: A native. Sometimes deeper blue than the species Colorado Blue Spruce (Picea pungens). Like other members of this species, more drought tolerant than other species of spruces, once established.

Growing Conditions: Best planted in full sun in moist, well-drained soil, but is adaptable to other conditions.

Prices vary according to size, variety, and availability.
