An excellent lawn tree, the honeylocust offers a graceful habit and fine textured leaves. This native tree is perfect where you want light, filtered shade. The light shade permits grass to grow to the trunk.

Size: 40 feet high and wide

Shape: Oval to rounded

Fall Color: Yellow (small leaflets require little raking)

Rate of Growth: Fast

Other Attributes: A strong growing native. Seedless. Salt tolerant. Drought tolerant once established.

Growing Conditions: Best planted in full sun in average, well-drained soil but is tolerant of a wide range of soil conditions.
