Canadian Hemlock (Tsuga canadensis)
Hemlocks are one of the most graceful evergreen trees. They make an excellent specimen, accent, or screening plant. Because it is one of the few conifers that can be sheared, hemlocks make a great hedge.
Size: 40 to 60 feet high and 25 feet wide at maturity
Shape: Softly pyramidal
Cones: Small, 1/2 to 1 inch long
Fall Color: No change
Rate of Growth: Medium
Other Attributes: A beautiful native tree that will soften the landscape
Growing Conditions: Plant in sun to shade in rich, moist, well-drained soil. Do not plant in an exposed, windy site.
